How do we work out how many wedding guests we can afford?

Divide the budget you've set for food and drinks by the cost per guest from your caterer or venue quote. Then check that number fits your venue's seated capacity.

Who counts in the wedding guest numbers?

Everyone who needs a seat or a meal: the two of you, your wedding party, children who'll be seated, and suppliers your venue or caterer will feed, like your photographer.

How do we cut down our guest list?

Sort everyone into must-invite, should-invite and nice-to-invite, agree on any rules together (like plus-ones or kids), and fill your number from the top down.

When do we need final guest numbers?
